Between 26th March and 1st April, 1916, 21st London of 142 Brigade, 47th Division were in the front line near Villers-au-Bois, to the north of Arras. The Battalion Diary tells us very little about this tour except that the front line, which included a feature called the ‘Grouse Butts’ was badly enfiladed. There is no mention of the circumstances or events that led to the death of Walter Nunn, who was killed in action on 30th March.
